Life Happened

It's been over a month since my last post and I was trying to think what happened to make me so busy...Life, yep that's it! Things from one of my best friends weddings, daily stresses of life and work, fall festivals and my mom had her other knee surgery. I feel like I have lived out of my car for the last two months. How about let's just sum it all up in pictures :)

Let's start off with pictures of Janna's wedding! We started the festivities off on that Thursday night making wedding favors (little bags of smores :) yumm)

Here is the final project at the wedding!

Then we had the rehearsal/rehearsal dinner which was AMAZING!

Me & Rachel...the sweetest girl ever, that I don't see near enough!

Me & the bride-to-be, Janna!

And then there was the WEDDING and it was oh so much fun! The venue was amazing, the food was great and the band was too much fun! We danced the night away! It had been awhile since I had seen so many of my friends in the same place and we just had an incredible night together!

Michelle, me, Janna & Kayla

Me & Janna! We are old roommates and have seen each other during some of our best and worst moments. Everyone should have a friend like this!

Michelle & I! We are also old roommates. We always have a great time together! College friends are the BEST. You get to experience so many life events with them during and after college. We are just watching each other grow up right before our eyes (man I need some emoji's right now!)

I did an awful job of taking pictures during the wedding weekend...something I used to be so great at! I blame it on technology.

The rest of my days have been spent with a lot of family time. Anyone who knows me knows that I am obsessed with my nephew and niece!

I mean look at those faces...how could you not be!?

Oh, my hometown had their 1st annual Fall Festival!
Of course I had to set up an artsy fartsy booth (with my Aunt)!

My mom had knee surgery last week so me and the fam have been in babysitter mode! I happened to be home on a week day and got to join her and my grandmother on one of her PT days, which means a free lunch from my grandma! I got to choose the place and obviously picked the best Mexican restaurant around! Little did the three of us know while enjoying our meal an individual had paid for our meal for us. Such a random act of kindness that feels my heart with smiles :). You know who you are and thank you for that kind deed!

Obligatory photo of the restaurant ;)

The holidays are quickly approaching and I must say I am not excited...I am almost dreading it, actually. This will be the first Thanksgiving & Christmas without my Grandpa, who passed away in March from lung cancer. I will not spend much time on this matter because frankly I don't feel like the water works coming on...and some days I don't act very Christian-like and get very bitter thinking about it. He was our world and it is going to be an extremely hard time without him this year.
My grandpa. The only grandpa I ever had. The closest thing to perfect that I knew. Doing one of his favorite things in this pic at his favorite place...playing the fiddle at the lake. Y'all there are no words...Please keep our family in your prayers this season.

A Southern Weekend

What a busy few weeks I've had lately! As we all know it is football season and most importantly it is the post season in Baseball (the best sport ever). Through the years, especially my college years, I have followed various sports (baseball, football and basketball) and have a very vocal opinion on 'my' team and players.

Let me give you a little background story to give you an idea of my love for sports. Growing up I was a complete tomboy there for a few years. I faithfully watched WWF and WCW every Monday night and boy did I love some baseball aka the Atlanta Braves. Most girls my age had posters from the latest Teen Bop on their walls but mine were covered in Atlanta Braves posters and news clippings. Instead of keeping a diary I kept a Braves book. I clipped articles from every paper and put them in my scrapbook along with writing my embarrassing commentary. The highlight of my week would be going to 'the baseball store' where I carefully picked out my latest baseball cards, posters and signed memorabilia. Eventually years down the road I decided it was time to become a girl and retire my Braves gear and hang my N*SYNC, etc. pics. Let me be honest here...to this day I STILL have 1 Javy Lopez plaque (with signed baseball card of course) and Javy Lopez beanie baby bear sitting on the shelf in my bedroom at my parent's house. No shame.

Over the last few years I've really gotten back into watching Braves games. With the Bobby Cox and Chipper Jones ERA quickly dwindling down I had to witness it one last time for the inner child/tomboy in me. And of course I'm hooked on the 'new' Braves, but never fear I can happily say there is no WWE watching in my life. ;)

The following pictures will sum up my last few weeks:

It's CHOPTOBER!!

You're becoming a Braves fan just from these pics aren't you?? I don't blame you!

How can you not love Baseball??

Umm, ok it's time for real talk. This man (Dan Uggla) should soo be in the lineup right now. Fredi made the worse call ever on this one.

When I haven't been nervously watching the Braves I've been enjoying some Mississippi State Football. Tailgating season is so much fun. There is great food, company, weather (for the most part), and the atmosphere in Starkville is unbeatable. There just isn't a better way to spend a Fall Saturday in the South than this. This weekend we had Bulldog Bash in this lovely college town I live in and call home. I had a great time with all my friends who came to town and partook in all the activities we had going on. You have your 'home away from home' well these people are my 'family away from family'.

SB and I always have a good time together. Never a dull moment!

I love getting to see these lovely ladies so much during the Fall. We have so much fun and can laugh together for days.

My little brother even made it to hang out with me this weekend!! He's my role model.

And this is our new 'Family Sunday Lunch' tradition at the Veranda. It is the best! Such a great way to end a wonderful weekend. If you don't know what a blue plate lunch is...bless your heart!

And guess what!? It was 52 degrees this morning!!!
                                       Happy Fall Y'all!!

I must be getting old...

I never really used to be into blogging. I would read one here and there by people who would post it on FB (you know those people with kids or that were just older than me). I like to think of myself as one who does not go with the crowd, in fact I try my hardest just to do opposite of the crowd a lot of times just to be different. Yes, I am a Droid.

Well, low and behold here I am wanting to start my own blog! Now that I'm 25+ years old I find myself doing or getting into a lot of things I used to have 'those people' or 'those things' titles given to. Like Pinterest...omg! Everyone looking at someone's ideas and trying to do them, dress like them, be like them..Ahhhh the horror! http://www.pinterest.com/caseyaubreana/ Yeah, that's me. What started out as boards to post my Thirty-One business venture on has turned into THAT. Don't judge me.

From 18-22 I became a completely different person so is the same happening from 25-30 (30 which I am very far away from!)? Are these the ages we turn into our mothers...oh me??! But seriously, I know me and some of my friends have our freak out moments of 'I'm in my late 20's, single (with no option in sight some days), no kids, still renting apartments and still eat majority of my meals from a microwave...Oh My Gosh!!'. Let me just say this...embrace it! Age is just a number...something I have to tell myself often these days.  Maybe it's just a southern thing, but ladies we waste too much time worrying about all that. Who cares if we are not following in our siblings/friends footsteps of settling down, having babies, or having that forever job by that certain age/number we have in our heads? Let's go out and have fun, enjoy walking around in our rented apartments with no pants on while we eat a cup of easy mac, sleeping 'in' on the weekends, and just doing whatever we want to! :) Can I get an AMEN!?

Happy, Rainy Tuesday Everyone!

Here's a shout out to this girl...my only friend (that I know of) who blogs and will probably do a happy dance when she finds this.
